I think all of this could now be done with ReaLearn? - But I'm not sure. One pad cycles through the 3 eq states of the amp. These are exclusive toggles, each has there own color, and if you tap the pad that already lit, it engages / disengages the Boost on the amp. I have 3 pads that switch channels on the amp sim I use. Programmed all this in using some JSFX to setup particular switching.įor example. The LAUNCHKEY 25 is basically my pedalboard controller for electric guitar sounds. Just didn't really have a good use for it. Well, Just like 90% of the projects I start, I get halfway there, learn a lot of stuff, forget why I'm even doing it in the first place - and then just

What may I have been doing wrong? Any thoughts? I was able to find and activate the second midi port, however nothing happened when I fed some midi to it. However when trying to recreate this in Reaper I didn't have that much luck. This youtube video ( ) gave me even more hope showing the process of utilizing the second midi port to animate the pads in cubase.

Launchcontrol guitar center manual#
After a while I came across the official online manual for the lk mini mk2 and saw that it is very much possible to control these lights outside of Ableton with the second midi input of the lk mini mk2. In the hopes that someone is still listening to this thread.Īs the title suggests I bought myself the launchkey mini mk2 the other day (just very partly because of the pretty lights) and was a little bummed out that it seems to be a little harder than expected to get something else than the standard red from those pads if you are using reaper. The lights were not of any interest to me so I never persude getting them to work. I have an launch key 49, I have all the functions except the pads and the lights working on channel 1, the pads work on channel 10, since I do not use the midi port 2, I assume that is a default of the keyboard. (supposedly) getting me a programmers guide for the MKI (the MKII guide is available on their site) It seems the two versions have differences in the lighting messages. I have the MKI version (orange bottom) The MKII (green bottom) has even fancier lights. Novation is (supposedly) getting me a programmers guide for the MKI (the MKII guide is available on their site) It seems the two versions have differences in the lighting messages. In the meantime, if there is anyone out there with a LaunchKey, please chime in, I could use some other testers. The lights can be triggered via sending MIDI messages to port 2, and I have the basic messages mapped - So I just need to make some sort of plug-in or script (using OSC?) to get parameter feedback, and I can make those sweet lighted pads do whatever ever they need to do. I can just enable port 2 as control only, and enable port 1 (not control), and it's very flexible. (track navigation buttons only work on port 2) So far I've managed to trick the thing into extended mode - where you can switch the pads and knobs back and forth between ports. The pads, and faders, and transport buttons work on either port. Obviously, the thing is only fully integrated with Ableton, however. This was an impulse buy after all! Besides. (I know, I know, I should have just went with a Nektar product, but GC dosen't sell those. I picked up a Novation LaunchKey 25 yesterday as an impulse buy at Guitar Center.
